Please take note of the following message: This is a brief summary of our ministry in the Philippines. Our ministry extends beyond “Gerald and Robin Sutek, Missionaries to the Philippines.” We hope that when you read this and view our video, you will have a full understanding and appreciation of our ministry here. We hope that this will generate support for the ministry, both in prayer and finances. We have not taken a furlough from this field in 12+ years, and we have no plans to in the near future. I plan to stay on the job here, and at the present time, I am in perfect health. I plan to “retire to heaven” in about 20 years if my hopes of the blessed hope are delayed… but I believe this ministry is worthy of support, even if the founder is retired in heaven.

SOME CANNOT IMAGINE
Simply so that all our supporters both in prayer and finance may be able to grasp what goes on in our ministry here in the Philippines I write this unto you that have never visited and may never visit our ministry. We rejoice in that we are busy in the King’s business.
Here is what it is like here.
We came to this city (Cagayan de Oro) in 2012 and looked for a house and building to rent like all missionaries do in a new city. Initially I thought I could work with local pastors and let them operate the church so that this would allow me to concentrate on operating the Bible Institute. I soon figured out that a church must be included in the foundation, or all will be on a bad slant. Soon about 12 students found us and we began functioning. Some staff joined us and the rent expanded to 5 facilities paying rent and utilities. Since we charge zero for our ministry and we house and feed and transport all students and staff, the Lord also expanded our support proportionately…He always has.
We began praying for a piece of land that could be bought on which to build all necessary facilities so we could all be together and share the ministry. We had no money beyond operating expenses at this time. The Lord miraculously brought us to a lovely 3 acres which was somewhat rural at that time. Since then, the city has swallowed huge chunks of land reaching in our direction. “OK Lord we see the land…what do we do now”? We started raising money for this land by first giving our personal inheritance. Then the Lord involved some of you along with your churches and pastors……thanks. We paid off the land and began building; paying as we go…no indebtedness.
We now have all necessary buildings to meet the needs of our ministry. We have between 25-35 souls living on the compound depending on the time of the year. It is the most beautiful property I have ever seen in the PI. We own and maintain 3 high occupancy vehicles, plus several motorcycles, one with extra seating capacity. We will soon begin another semester of Bible institute class with about 16+ students. We are also operating a tutoring school for students who have not yet finished High School. We usually average 3-4 street meetings per week along with a hospital ministry preaching to patients waiting outside for their doctors’ appointments early in the morning.
We have two churches several hours drive from our ministry post. These have been started and are maintained by our graduates. We have either built or helped build some facilities for those ministries. All of our students minister either preaching or teaching or involvement in music ministry. All do very much publick ministry and all have various chores to help maintain this place.
As for the support of Gerald and Robin Sutek we can truthfully say as we have said for many years “We continue to have need of nothing but your prayer.” As to the needs of this expanding ministry we truthfully ask that you pray and consider that the Lord would continue to supply the needs of this ministry in this expanding time and even beyond our lives. This ministry is most vital in the evangelism of this large community as well as the training of future Bible believing ministers in case the Lord’s coming is beyond our current desires.
