The publick ministry has greatly affected my life, and my walk with the Lord. I first preached on the street when I was seventeen years old. It was a tremendous experience that I will never forget. For many months, I had been going out with my Dad and some other men, and had often been prompted by my Dad and by the Holy Spirit to preach, but had quietly declined. Yet the Holy Spirit kept dealing with me, and I finally decided to go ahead. Since then I have preached on the street regularly, with few exceptions, every other week for two years. It definitely was a changing point in my life. In fact, thus far, I would have to say that apart from my salvation, it has produced the biggest change in my spiritual life. Whereas before I had a lackluster, unenthused attitude about serving God; publick preaching gave me a zeal for serving God and a realization of just how exciting the Christian life can be. Furthermore, it has awakened me to the daily spiritual conflict that is present all around us, and to the necessity of our involvement in this battle.
