SWAT REPORT # 141 05-18-2010

Ecc 7:29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.

Some of you have probably missed the reports lately…others may enjoy the break. I have had to deal with technical problems which it seems everyone boasts of having a quick solution but nobody is successful. I prayed to God for wisdom and with His guidance the problem may be in the past. Praise the Lord. I thought I was finished with problems when I got out of the motor home ministry…ha ha.

Isa 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

I am so very sorry to keep many of you in suspense as to the outcome of our new prison ministry. My last report solicited your prayers as we faced a meeting to determine our qualifications and what group we might minister to and when. Well, the meeting included those religious groups already established in that prison and they quickly re-established their desired times and groups. Since we were the new guys on the block we were offered what was left. Our lot was to draw the worst (bad boys) section of the prison and at the worst time for us and our men. But, that's OK; these guys need the Lord too.

See Photo SR141.01 Since we are disallowed to take any pictures inside the prison this is what this medium security prison housing 600+ inmates looks like from the street.

Once all the details were worked out we designed posters and handbills announcing our new ministry. We attached them to John/Romans in Romanian and stapled a "Get-out-of-hell-free" card to the front. These were very attractive and we were in hopes and prayers that we would have many, no some, really, at least one show up. Their attendance is strictly voluntary and would cut into their cherished free time. Praise the Lord we were allowed to put these into the hands of 120 bad boys.

Because of the smallness of the available room we were only allowed 10 maximum to attend. The first meeting we had 9 in attendance and 3 made it quite evident that they wanted to receive the Lord on that day. All of our church men that could possibly come did come and all 5 of us rejoiced greatly. We have had four meetings with like attendance and several men getting saved at every meeting. This has got to be the last harvest field before the coming of the Lord.

I don't know of other missionaries ministering inside Romanian prisons and the "ministries" we met with certainly had little or nothing to offer to alleviate their spiritual afflictions. Our men feel greatly honored to be given this opportunity to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ to these needy men. See photo SR141.02 Since we could not take a camera inside, Cornel, our resident artist made a drawing of the group from memory which is quite accurate to my memory. Yours Truly is holding the Bible and preaching.

We enjoy some of the most fabulous pastoral scenery from our new house. The scene in photo SR141.07 is just over my back fence just 30 yards from my backdoor. The job of a shepherd has got to be very boring and since they have plenty of time to read I thought I would provide them with gospel tracts. They brought the gospel to the town of Bethlehem long ago (Lk. 2:16,17) and now we bring it back to them.

In photo SR141.03 Adrian is faithfully illustrating the gospel to the kids. He has taken over this ministry now and this is exactly what we have desired from the very start of our ministry here. Adrian is most capable and faithful and the love is mutual between him and the children.

We were honored to have Mischa and Hugo, two good brothers from Jake Huussen's church come to visit on our mission field. In photo SR141.04 notice them as bookends with Chuck Zander, his faithful minister and attendant Mihai, and myself in between. Our guests very much enjoyed their visit to our ministry in Racos along with a tour of the ancient volcano in that village.

Photo SR141.05 is the Sutek family enjoying serving the good Lord on the eastern front. And in photo SR141.06 look close and see a double rainbow which we enjoyed directly out our back window.

If there are ANY problems with your receiving this email just let me know. I would like to try to perfect my beloved list of 828.

Enjoying the service, pay, fringe benefits and fruit on the eastern front
