SWAT REPORT # 64 08-31-06

Matthew 28:19 …baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Photo #6401 is the second baptism of this year. We combined this with a watermelon fellowship and fun time. Our baptism services are among the greatest I have ever been a part of. Everyone enjoys them. On the left of Bro. Logan is Moses, his wife Florica, and son Alexandru…all baptized the same day. They are from our efforts in the village of Budila.

1 Cor. 9:22…I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some
In photo #6402 The group from America joined with us for a large street meeting in a park where chess is a popular activity. Since we had preached the paint off their chess tables and they began to scream back at us, Bro. Logan wisely decided to improve P.R. and join a sinner at the game. He lost the game but I think that was part of the P.R. Notice the man to his left with the questioning stare.

Acts 20:20…and from door to door
We had a group of 18 come for two weeks to help us both in Brasov and in the two villages, Budila and Racos, where we minister. We completely covered the villages with tracts and announcements for a big meeting in the community center. Photo # 6403 shows one of the pastors of the group, Kirk Christensen from Delaware with Mary Bethany as interpreter going door to door in Budila. Many were saved from this great meeting. Pastor Joe Cammilleri and many from his church in Rochester, NY were among the group who came. This was both a missions trip for these churches as well as a field trip for missionary Chuck Zander and his son, Adam. They will be joining us on this field soon. Not soon enough as far as we are concerned…we are spread very thin right now considering the work the Lord has given us to do.

Luke 8:45…Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee,
How many Gypsy kids can you cram into a barn in Racos…answer…several more. The kids in Racos, unbothered by peer pressure and adult politics and ethnic discrimination, are our largest group. In photo 6404 they are gathered once again to hear the stories from the Bible and also the old, old story of salvation. Bro. Christensen ministered to them on this occasion and many easily turned their hearts toward the Lord.

Mark 14:46 And they laid their hands on him, and took him.
Joining our church, plus the group from USA was missionary Paul Hamilton and a dozen from his ministry in Moldova. All this totaled about 35 soldiers or more on a street meeting in the square, packed full of people and tourists in Brasov. For you that have been paying close attention to the SWAT REPORTS you will be interested to see photo # 6405 which captures a police encounter of the third kind. If you look close you will see Brent Logan and our interpreter Vali in the back seat of the police car. The situation has deteriorated since I last asked you to pray about these police troubles in report #61. Remember that we have complied with every detail of the law and they still press us. They finally took Bro. Logan and Vali to the station for questioning and Bro. Logan tried to force the issue and get them to give him a ticket which would show a legal violation and get us into court and in front of a judge so that we might solve this problem once and for all…but they absolutely refused to give him a ticket…probably predicting the outcome…yet they continue to intimidate our people. We have not brought this to the attention of the U.S. embassy and they are quite interest in our side of this dilemma. So…keep praying.

Psalm 76:10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee:
The police attracted great attention and while they drove off we continued the street meeting uninterrupted. The two young men to the right in photo 6406 came to Mrs. Logan who video taped the entire scene and asked her what all this was about. She explained the entire story to them and found very sympathetic ears. Patrick Cammilleri then filled there ear and heart with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and they were marvelously saved as two of our men were questioned at the police station. Nothing much came of the questioning except the salvation of these young men. So…can we praise the Lord for the police trouble…you bet. There were many other salvations and blessings which came with this visiting group of excellent workers for the Lord…they were a GIANT blessing to all of us.

Mark 14:8 She hath done what she could:
Mary Bethany is also gifted in the language…without lessons she has become a very able interpreter…see if you can pick her out as she works among the Gypsy girls…doing what she can…photo 6407
